Okay this is short and sweet. The HIV itself gives you sytompms like a mild cold or flu, in fact you might not even notice this. It takes approx. 3 months before it serum converts which simply means it will show in a blood test. If you have been exposed you will need to be tested every 3 months for a year before you can feel safe. As far as the disease from HIV which is aids you might not get even if you carry the HIV virus and if you did get it chances are the real sytompms wouldnt occur for up to 10 years. Dont be afraid to get tested there is no cure but there are certainly treatments now days that will keep you alive for a long time if you were unlucky enough to have it.
